Where owners start

Money leaks: paying for things nobody agreed to

Most money doesn’t leave a business through one big mistake. It leaves quietly, through things somebody once said yes to, with good intent, and nobody looked at again.

Where it usually slips

These are common places to look. Your own records will show which ones apply to you.

  • Extra work agreed on site that never reaches billing.
  • A quote that says one price and an invoice that says another.
  • A pay rule set up to be fair, like paid travel time, that nobody checked.
  • Credits and free extras given without a rule.
  • Work that’s done but waits weeks to be billed.
  • Subscriptions and plans nobody owns anymore.

A leak or a choice?

Some of these are choices, made on purpose and for a good reason. That’s fine. We ask what you won’t trade first, and we record those choices as decided. We only look for the ones nobody decided.

What we do

In month one, we look at your own records with you: quotes, invoices, payroll and credits. We find where money slips between sales, the work and the money, and give each gap one owner. Then we watch it every week, so the next one doesn’t slip.

Changes to anyone’s pay depend on the law and on what they were told. We work with your payroll provider or employment adviser on those. We don’t give legal or tax advice.
